The Truth about Man, a workbook by Paul Washer unfolds the desperate condition of humanity. As the second part in a series of biblical studies, this workbook provides the reader with a concise Bible study on a fundamental tenant of the Christian gospel - the lost condition of man. Like the previous book, The One True God, this workbook keeps the student engaged directly with the Bible throughout the entire study. It is intended not just to teach truth, but to lead to an encounter with the living God and a deeper understanding of the magnitude of our salvation by demonstrating man's true need of God's redemption. In this study students are encouraged to thoughtfully draw conclusions from the Scriptures rather than to merely absorb the principles, inferences, and illustrations set before them by the author. For this reason the book includes very little of such material and instead focuses on digesting the Scriptures directly. Learning in this way, the reader is set on a firm foundation and will readily perceive the centrality and high authority of biblical doctrine within the Christian life. The study of doctrine is both an intellectual and devotional discipline. Therefore students are encouraged throughout the study to think through and apply the truths they learn, meditating on the demands of Scripture for their heart and mind. The book puts us squarely in the middle of the material and requires we give searching thought to God's assertions about man.

The Truth About Man - La Verdad del Hombre: Las disciplinas de la ciencia, la filosofía y la religión están llenos de teorías construidas por hombres que intentan explicar o justificar, las fallas fundamentales de la humanidad. Pero el problema con el hombre se explica mejor por su Creador. Si nosotros, como criaturas vamos a encontrar un remedio para nuestra situación, debemos buscarlo en Dios, el único que puede salvar. A través de un estudio guiado por las propias palabras de Dios, y organizado por diversos temas sistemáticos, La Verdad del Hombre demuestra la condición desesperada de la humanidad. Como la segunda parte de una serie de estudios bíblicos, este libro ofrece al lector un estudio serio de la Biblia acerca de una parte integral del evangelio cristiano, la condición perdida del hombre.

Al igual que el libro anterior, el Único Dios Verdadero, este libro obliga al estudiante participar directamente con la Biblia a lo largo de todo el estudio. No sirve sólo para enseñar la verdad, sino para llevar el estudiante a un encuentro con el Dios vivo y una comprensión más profunda de la magnitud de nuestra salvación mediante la demostración de la verdadera necesidad del hombre de la redención de Dios. En este estudio los estudiantes son animados a llegar cuidadosamente a sus conclusiones a la luz de las Escrituras en lugar de sólo absorber a los principios, inferencias e ilustraciones dados por el autor. Por esta razón, el libro incluye muy poco de ese tipo de material y en su lugar se centra en digerir las Escrituras directamente.

Al aprender de esta manera, el lector se encuentra en una base firme y fácilmente percibirá la centralidad y la alta autoridad de la doctrina bíblica dentro de la vida cristiana. El estudio de la doctrina es a la vez una disciplina intelectual y devocional. Por lo tanto los estudiantes son animados a través del estudio a analizar y aplicar las verdades que aprenden, meditando en las demandas de las Escrituras para su corazón y la mente. El libro nos coloca de lleno en el centro del material y exige de nosotros pensar seriamente en lo que Dios dice acerca del hombre.
